Prevar
One portal for the people behind eleven fruit brands. Your role decides what opens.

Growers, licensees and marketers all needed different things, and there was nowhere to keep any of it.
Prevar was set up in 2004 to develop new apple and pear varieties and license them, in New Zealand and overseas. Each brand has its own brand guides, growing guides and other material, and the people who use them sit at different points along the chain: growers and packers, licensees, marketing people, Prevar’s own staff. Before this there was no system for it at all.
Two sides, one door
So I split it in two. prevar.co.nz is the public side, where anyone can read about the company and its brands. Behind the Log in button is a private portal with one page per brand, holding that brand’s guides and files.

The role sits on the person
Each person gets a role on their own account, and a separate admin account controls it. So who sees what is kept in one place, not scattered through the brand pages. Anyone who tries to go further than their role allows lands on a No Access page.

The same button for everyone. What opens depends on who you are.
Cherish got a front door of its own, with no login.
Cherish is one of the eleven, an apple bred from Sciros and Pinkie. Its site faces the other way from the portal, towards people who just eat the fruit, so it’s all pink and red, and the brand’s apple pulls a different face for each thing it’s known for.
